Little Oakley U 10's Blues 1-1 Brooklands U10s Blues
Sunday saw Oakley of the Andrews Blues League entertain Brooklands, highfliers of the Weller Blues League in this end of season trophy. The match started very slowly for Oakley and they conceded within the first two minutes of play. This seemed to stir the Oakley team into life and they began to play good attacking football. The dominance of Brown and Smith at the back was allowing Oakley to play and the home team began to assert themselves on the game. Clackett was full of running up front and his movement was creating space for the Oakley midfield of Manning, Murray and Sullivan. It was with this newfound effort and space that Oakley managed to construct their equaliser, Clackett was the one to covert the chance, duly deserved for his unselfish efforts up front. The second half saw chances at both ends but it was Oakley who looked more likely to break the deadlock as they continued to impress. But they could not convert their superior possession into a winning position as both the Brooklands keeper and the woodwork kept the score down. Final score 1-1, an excellent match and a good advert for youth football.
