Under 10's Andrews Blue league
 

Little Oakley blues  1  Brightlingsea Regents blues  0 

On a very muddy pitch Little Oakley started very slowly. Not playing for the last two weeks did not help, and with all the play was going Brighlingsea's way. Callium mallet had to make a number of great saves to keep Little Oakley in the game in the first ten minutes.

Oakley started to put the  game together with some early passing from Franky Selwyn to release Liam Clackett. Who was unlucky not to convert the passing moves into goals.

Jack Murray came close to scoring from a great cross from Franky, Jack just put the ball wide of the upright.

With Adam Brown and Matthew Smith playing the game of the season. This gave the confidence of the midfield to push forward and stop Brightlingsea playing their strong football. The first half ended 0 - 0, but there could have been goals at either end. A good first half with improvement needed by the Oakley team.

The second half started well with oppunitinies to score at either end. Nathan Southgate was replaced midway in the second half and with Liam Clackett first touch he put Oakley ahead. Well done to both teams. A good game of football.

U14’s B Division

Little Oakley Reds 3 – 2 St Edmunds
Oakley had the bear eleven this week, and opted to play three at  the back Warren, Goldsmith & Kite , with Summers going in goal. Oakley coped well to start with playing Cole, Freke, Beeney, Partridge & Routledge in midfield and Young and Eldridge up front. St Edmunds did threatened early on back the back three dealt with the attacks. Oakley took the lead after 30 minutes capitalizing on poor goal kick which went straight to Partridge a quick pass to Young who scored. This woke up St Edmunds though and they piled on the pressure forcing Oakley into mistakes leading to two quick goals. With the halftime score at 1-2 to the boys credit opted to go back to four at the back, Cole dropping to left back and Eldridge to left mid.With the change in formation Oakley played with more confidence and were soon putting St Edmunds under pressure. Warren thought he’d scored a superb header form a free kick, but it was ruled out for off side. This really got them going and soon afterwards did equalize when Partridge found himself free on the edge of the box and hit an unstoppable shot. Oakley sensed the winner and with minuets to go a ball over the top for Freke to chase and with Freke bearing down the St Edmunds defender attempted to pass back to the keeper but miss hit and scored into  his own net.
